OPRA
Otterhampton Parish Recreation Association is a local run group, recently qualifying for charitable status (registration no.1124017), that has been set up for the benefit of the local community. There are regular social events such as
EASTER EGG HUNT, EASTER QUIZ, BIENNIAL FETE, FIREWORKS DISPLAY, SENIOR CITIZENS CHRISTMAS DINNER & CHRISTMAS TREE LIGHTING.
There are also monthly TALKS in the village hall, monthly WALKS in the local countryside and weekly BADMINTON sessions in the school hall.
A large source of funding for these events is the OPRA 100 CLUB, a lottery drawn on a monthly basis. To hold a number in this lottery the cost is equivalent to £1 per week payable on a quarterly standing order (£13 per qtr) and 55% of the funds raised in this way is given back as prize money.
